ContactAtOnce! Service Privacy Statement
Privacy Policy
Your privacy and the security of
your personal information are very important to us. We want you to be as
comfortable as possible using the ContactAtOnce! Service, a service that
enables users to communicate with merchants through instant messaging or other
means of electronic communication using a browser-based user interface (the
“Service”). We are dedicated to protecting the privacy of those who use the
Service.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to
data collected through the website from which you initiate the Service, the
Contact At Once!, LLC corporate website, the ContactAtOnce! customer portal, or
any other websites that include links to the Service. Those websites have their
own privacy policies.
We may amend this Privacy Policy
from time to time. We will post any changes to this Privacy Policy here so that
you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that
information, and whether we will disclose that information to anyone. Please
refer back to this Privacy Policy on a regular basis. By using the Service, you
agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
WHAT INFORMATION ABOUT ME IS COLLECTED THROUGH MY USE
OF THE SERVICE?
We may collect two types of
information: non-personally identifying information and personally identifying
information:
When you
use the Service, we will automatically collect some non-identifying statistical
information ("Non-Personally Identifying Information"). Such
Non-Personally Identifying Information includes information that your browser
sends to every website you visit, such as IP address, browser type and
language, access times, and referring web site addresses. Non-Personally
Identifying Information may also include other anonymous statistical data
involving the use of the Service.
You may
use the Service without providing any Personally Identifying information.
Personally Identifying information is information that identifies you or can be
used to identify or contact you ("Personally Identifying
Information"). Such Personally Identifying Information may include your
name, email address, and telephone number. While we do not require any
Personally Identifying Information, you may voluntarily choose to provide it in
the instant messaging conversations you conduct through the Service (the “IM
Conversations) or via form-based information requests. Unless you give us
permission to do so, we will not sell, share, license, trade or rent your
Personally Identifying Information other than as specified in this Privacy
Policy.
WHERE AND WHEN IS INFORMATION COLLECTED?
We will
keep transcripts of your IM Conversations, including any Personally Identifying
Information you choose to provide within them.
We will
keep any form-based information requests you choose to submit, including any
Personally Identifying Information you choose to provide within them.
To help
manage your communication session, track your preferences, and personalize your
experience, we use a standard feature of browser software called “cookies.” We
collect Non-Personally Identifying Information passively using cookies. Unless
you voluntarily identify yourself (though a form-based information request, for
example) we won’t know who you are, even if we assign a cookie to your
computer. The only Personally Identifying Information a cookie can contain is
information you supply. A cookie cannot read unrelated data off your hard
drive. Most web browsers and security software automatically accept cookies.
However, if you wish, you may disable “persistent cookies” and still use the
Service. If you chose to disable “session cookies,” you will not be able to
utilize the Service because it requires a session cookie to work on your
computer.
DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS
OF AGE?
WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?
The other
information we collect, including transcripts of your IM Conversations and
forms-based requests that may include Personally Identifying Information, will
be shared on a tightly restricted basis with Contact At Once! customers. This
information will be accessible only to authorized users representing the
merchant(s) with whom you communicated, the provider(s) of the web site(s) from
which you initiated the IM Conversation(s), and Contact At Once!. Their use of
the information will be subject to the terms of their respective privacy
policies. Contact At Once! will not sell, rent, or otherwise share Personally
Identifying Information to third parties except as disclosed above.
IS THE INFORMATION COLLECTED SECURE?
Notwithstanding
these commitments to protect your information (including Personally Identifying
Information) from loss, misuse or alteration by third parties, you should be
aware that there is always some risk involved in transmitting information over
the Internet. There is also some risk that others could find a way to thwart
our security systems. As a result, while we strive to protect your information,
we cannot ensure or warrant the security and privacy of any information you
transmit through your use of the Service.
