Well that’s all fine, well, and good for iPad and iPhone owners…what about something for the Android network?
Ursus and Sam – the limited availability release became available in early July. Pending receipt of the last feedback from those users, we anticipate making the app available to everyone via the App Store next month. Stay tuned and thanks for your interest.
David – The native app was developed specifically for iPad, taking advantage of the screen real estate. It is possible that we’ll mini-size the UI for iPhone, but we want to first see how the iPad implementation is received.
In case you were not aware, we currently have a micro browser-based mobile app that works on iPhone and Android phones (and many others too) and it is included at no additional charge with our Dealer Edition. You need only configure it via the user profile in the portal. It is called MDE (Mobile Desktop Extension). MDE it is a light-weight browser app and a lot of dealers like its simplicity. Many dealers are using it mainly to answer while out on the lot, then transfer the chat to their desk.
I already got the ipad for our store, cant wait to start chaatting mobile, WHAT DATE IS THIS APP GOING TO BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC? CAN CONTACT AT ONCE GIVE IT TO US PRIVATELY UNTIL THEN?
Ray – Apple limits the number of users to whom an app developer (us) can make a pre-release app avaiable so we cannot enable any additional users at this time. The app has been submitted to Apple and will be available on the app store just as soon as they review and approve it. We’ve heard that the queue is several weeks, but apple doesn’t really provide a specific timeline. We will let everyone know just as soon as it is available on the app store.
