Company Timeline
What If…?
Like most tech companies, Contact At Once! started with a simple question: "What happens if...?"  Chat wasn't new; neither was texting. But no one had ever deployed them within online ads and scaled them webwide. What if one click created an instant connection between an online shopper and an advertiser, anywhere, anytime? Better ad conversion and a great shopper experience is the answer...and it launched a software company.
A Family Affair
Marc Hayes, Scott Bogartz and John Hanger held their first business meetings around a dining room table  in Marc’s father’s home (Marc Sr.). Together, they turned their Software-as-a-Service concept into a reality, officially establishing Contact At Once!.
Automotive Pioneer
Though the software was built to work across many industries, we had to pick one as the first focus. We pioneered the use of live chat in automotive advertising, literally driving around Atlanta and knocking on dealers’ doors. Today, our chat network of dealers, manufacturers and auto listing sites numbers 13,000+.
The First Teammate
So many customers started signing up that we needed someone laser-focused on taking care of them day in and day out. That led us to hire our first teammate, Karim Peters. We welcomed him to the family with open arms, and Karim is still here...making Contact At Once! customers happy, happy, happy as we speak.
500,000 Sales Conversations
In 2008, we powered 500,000 sales conversations for our customers.
Bigger Team, Bigger Home
As chat demand grew, so did the Contact At Once! team. We moved to a more spacious location in Alpharetta, GA (Marc Sr. had long since kicked us out of the dining room), but we were still committed to keeping a family feel to the business.
2 Million Sales Conversations
We continued to broaden our network, enabling the two millionth sales conversation on December 30, 2009. In fact, auto dealers' digital conversations grew nearly 200% that year!
Cash for Clunkers
The recession helped propel Contact At Once! to the forefront of automotive digital marketing. Helping dealers get a higher return on their ad spend only became more valuable!
Let’s Go Apartment Hunting
As demand in the automotive industry grew, we started asking “what if...?” about other markets, like multifamily housing. What if people who were looking for an apartment through online ad listings and property websites could instantly start a conversation with a property leasing agent? Hmm...
First iPad App
Mobile devices really have become the name of the game, and we created the first native iPad app for sales conversations in the automotive and multifamily housing industries. With it, salespeople no longer had to stay sitting at their desks...they could converse with prospects wherever they went!
Moving On Up
Internet/mobile shopping grew, shopper demand for faster, more personalized communication grew...and so did our team! We soon relocated the family to our second office in Alpharetta.

Use Your iPhone
With adoption of our iPad app zipping along, we asked ourselves: “Why leave mobile phones out of the conversation?” We developed the first iPhone mobile app for sales conversations, making it even easier for our customers’ salespeople to keep meeting and conversing with their  future customers.

We made the #491 spot on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies. Even more amazing? We kept growing so fast that we made Inc. Magazine’s list again in 2012 and 2013!
We Got Your Back
When some customers told us they couldn’t keep up with the volume of new sales conversations, we knew it was a good problem to have! So we added a Virtual Receptionist team to back up our customers when they’re too busy to answer or are not available.
Say Hello To Mobile Text Connect
We introduced the first SMS text-to-chat feature for automotive and multifamily housing advertising. With it, shoppers can text your business using their mobile phone...and you can reply through your Contact At Once! software (which is sent back to the shopper as an SMS text), complete with analytics and transcripts. Isn’t technology grand?

Patents Issued
The originality of the idea behind the company was validated by the U.S. Patent Office when they issued two patents to us, both having to do with including two-way communications links within online ads.
Our First Android Mobile App
We created our first native Android mobile app in Google Play (available at no additional fee to Contact At Once! customers). It even included new swag, including the ability to manage multiple chats at once, join in-progress conversations and more.
